Her silence enabled the misconduct of Malibu Beach Inn’s management.

This website is dedicated to exposing the unethical practices of Malibu Beach Inn and its leadership under the Mani Brothers. It sheds light on the role of Tsipi Mani, the wife of one of the owners, who passively observed the unfolding events and chose inaction. Her silence enabled the misconduct of Malibu Beach Inn’s management.
At the core of this issue is a small, family-run staffing agency that initially specialized in high-end domestic placements. The agency had a reputation for supplying housekeepers and household staff to luxury properties in Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and Brentwood. When Malibu Beach Inn approached them, they assured the agency that transitioning to commercial staffing would be straightforward and mutually beneficial.
According to the agency, Malibu Beach Inn’s HR Director, Lili Burgos, personally encouraged them to venture into commercial staffing despite their lack of experience in the field. She reassured them that the Mani Brothers, the hotel's owners, were reliable partners and promised a secure and profitable business arrangement. Trusting these assurances, the agency took the leap into commercial staffing.
However, when legal trouble emerged, the so-called partnership collapsed. The staffing agency was left abandoned, forced to bear the consequences of decisions it had no authority over. Meanwhile, Tsipi Mani, in a position of privilege and influence, stood by and did absolutely nothing.
The issue began when an African-American hostess employed by Malibu Beach Inn was fired while hospitalized for a medical condition. The HR department, under the direction of Lili Burgos, justified the termination by claiming they needed a “more reliable” employee. This decision, however, violated the employee’s rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Following the termination, Malibu Beach Inn instructed the staffing agency to provide a replacement. The agency complied, but internal emails later revealed that the decision to terminate the employee—and the rationale behind it—was entirely Malibu Beach Inn’s responsibility.
When the dismissed employee filed a civil lawsuit for wrongful termination, Malibu Beach Inn strategically shifted blame. Despite clear evidence that they made the decision, the company falsely accused the staffing agency of being at fault.
This betrayal financially and legally devastated the small family-owned agency. Lacking the resources for an extensive legal defense, they pleaded with Malibu Beach Inn for support. Their requests were ignored. Instead, Malibu Beach Inn severed ties with the agency, leaving them to face the fallout alone. Throughout all of this, Tsipi Mani stayed silent. As the wife of an owner, she had the influence to intervene, to demand justice, to advocate for ethical action—but she chose to remain indifferent.
Malibu Beach Inn’s unethical decisions crushed a once-thriving small business and exemplify how powerful corporations avoid accountability at the expense of their partners.
This case highlights the necessity for accountability. The facts speak for themselves:
